Latin Music, Dance at
Outdoor Festival

The ?Latin Music and Dance Festival? will take place on July 26 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the City Hall Concert Pavilion. This is a free event open to all ages.

Latin Grammy Award-winning Afro Bop Alliance, an Afro-Cuban jazz septet, will take the stage as world-renowned dance company DC Casineros performs Cuban dance pieces throughout the concert and leads Salsa dances with the audience. Bring a blanket or low-back chair for lawn seating.

Imagine, Create at Arts Barn

Space is still available in the city of Gaithersburg?s ?All Star Improv Comedy Camp? at the Arts Barn scheduled for Aug. 12 ? 16. The one-week session for children ages 4 to 15 teaches improvisation skills through games and activities and a chance to perform on stage.

Registration is also now open for fall classes at the Arts Barn. Creative options are available for both children and adults in painting, drawing, photography, crafts and more.

Peony Photograph

In celebration of the centennial anniversary of the Schwartz Peony Garden, the Gaithersburg Community Museum is conducting a photography contest to capture the beauty of the city?s official flower.

From amongst dozens of entries, 10 finalists have been selected. They will be on view at the Community Museum as of July 18.

The public is invited to ?Like? an image from among the finalists on the Community Museum?s Facebook page from July 14 ? Aug. 14. The image with the most ?Likes? will receive the Visitor?s Choice award, with a cash prize of $50. Visit www.facebook.com/GaithersburgCommunityMuseum on or after July 14 to cast your vote.
