Dana White: Mark Hunt Turned Down Fight With Junior Dos Santos

Dana White: Mark Hunt Turned Down Fight With Junior Dos Santos UFC president Dana White put to rest talk of a potential heavyweight showdown between former champion Junior dos Santos and Mark Hunt on Thursday. After Alistair Overeem confirmed he would be removed from the planned UFC 160: Velasquez Vs. Silva II card, many were pushing for Hunt to step in.

On his own Twitter page Wednesday, Hunt said he was down for the fight. However, White stated that "The Super Samoan" turned the bout down.

"Hey dummy Mark Hunt turned down the fight with JDS as of last night so STFU when u don't know what ur talking about," White wrote.

White added that Hunt, who moved into ninth in the latest UFC heavyweight rankings, would "get a top 10 fight (next) but as last nite he turned down JDS."

It appears the dos Santos-Overeem fight will happen later this year after "The Reem" recovers from a quad injury.
